Northfield Animal Haven is a voluntary non profit organisation registered with the Scottish Council of Voluntary Organsations run on the property of Northfield Farm, New Pitsligo, Aberdeenshire, AB43 6PX.

We are non funded and rely on public donations to do the work we do.

The principal aim of the organisation is to provide a rescue/ re-homing centre for any unwanted, neglected, abused and retired equine, farm and small animals. 
We cannot cater for Cats and Dogs.
Provide education for the welfare of the animals. Providing interaction with animals to also improve education on animal welfare. To re-home any animal that can be so as to ensure a carefree forever happy home.

We also aim to provide a community area comprising of a play park,picnic area and possible a community allotment garden therefore increasing social interaction within the community for people of all walks of life without prejudice.

Thus also bringing families together through play and/or education.

 

Our Animal Assited Therapy is really showing alot of interest.  At Northfield Animal Haven we aim to teach kids to notice the similarities between humans and animals so they learn to see these defenceless creatures as more than animals or something that is easy money, we would hope that because of our programmes kids can make a positive impact on the world as they get older. By Offering insight into animal behavior and teaching children how to interpret different forms of animal communication, appreciation of animals is formed. Kids get a chance to interact with the animals by caring for them, grooming, feeding and general husbandry and of course the fun part enjoying their company. Hands on learning is so much more beneficial to both animal and child. We would love to take this project to the next level however this would take funds and alot of them. Rescue, Rehome, Retirement and Rehabilitation for all equine, farm and small animals, we have no age limits for animals coming in and we do not charge for animals coming into our care. When we rehome regardless of the time and expense we put into these animals we do not charge for this you can give a donation if you wish but it is not compulsory
